Today one of the most amazing women I have ever met was all alone - TopicsExpress

Today one of the most amazing women I have ever met was all alone when I drove up the road to see her. She was standing there looking, just staring at a huge pile of scrap metal that she was responsible for. On July 16th, she was doing laundry, making meals for her family of six & being a momma & wife. On the morning of July 17th, she had no idea that shed know the difference between how a kenmore vs. maytag dishwasher burned up, she had no idea that she wouldnt be going home to her own home and that shed be relocated to a rental 40 miles away. She had no idea that shed be responsible for over a hundred homes to clean up in order for people to start over again. Homes that were devastated by fire now in a pile of 700 tons of metal. . .where is the media? Where is the government to help? Do people even care? Today was a day I felt anger. . .and I dont feel that way very often. Maybe it is part of the grieving process. But, honestly, seeing the remains of over 100 homes from our little community in a pile of scrap metal being crushed and baled and hauled off. Its heart-breaking. To me, it was a powerful moment in the history of our state & no one even knew it was happening. I am not a videographer, but tried to do a few clips to share a little bit. . . I love you, Manthy Salcido. . .and I am so proud to call you my friend.
