Today some of us went on a mini-1-day safari at Akagera National Wildlife Park in the north east of Rwanda along the border with Tanzania. Quite a beautiful place... many species of beautiful birds I had never seen... but though vast and beautiful, it felt to me, like the animals didnt have enough habitat. The baboons all have HIV and some looked kinda weak ~ not the one in the picture below - he was beautiful, glossy coat and intelligent. My favorite was the young giraffe. We saw a zebra, but he was too fast for me to get a picture. I will post some of Olas photographs when she releases them... and next week Ill have some time to write some necessary reflections about the retreat.
