Today the Federal Government announced another Tasmanian Jobs and Growth Plan project ie $60,000 for the Sandy Bay Sailing Club for safety and rescue equipment and the Club upgrade. While on the one hand Oak Tasmania congratulates them on their success in passing the stringent Value for Money test, it will be interesting to see how many sustainable jobs are secured. Oak Tasmania is still waiting to hear from the Department if the HARDLAM lamination project will get the $4 million funding that has been promised by two Federal Governments - and Oaks proposal is aimed at providing employment to 42 Tasmanians and securing the Oakdale Industries business and its employees. The list of projects from the $106 million fund is attached for information.
