Today, the United States is celebrating Martin Luther King Day. Although his real birthday was on 15 January, this country agreed to always hold it on the third Monday of January, which is normally around that date. King was the spokesperson of non-violent civil rights activism, successfully protesting against racial discrimination in federal and state laws, and was assassinated in 1968.
