Today was a beautiful day. It started with a visit to the Eiffel Tower, up close and personal. After walking around and taking pictures with my friend Arielle, I offered to take a picture for a couple. Then they pulled out a red umbrella and said this photo had to be taken in a certain way. I paused, shrugged, and said okay. So on a sunny midday in Paris, I took a styled photo of a couple kissing under an umbrella with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Fabulous! Then they told me the story, about how they have an old picture on their vision board of a couple doing the same thing, and it meant so much to them that they were able to recreate it. Talk about dreams coming true! Hearing the words vision board reeled me in, and I may have invited myself to a visit in their home country of Canada come spring ;) ....after all, one of them has a graphic design background :) After a nice lunch, we made our way to the Musee DOrsy, by far my favorite museum to date. Its small enough for me to wrap my mind around, and big enough for me to wander without feeling pressured. There are intricate details everywhere, with boldly colored walls and massive paintings. I stood in awe at Van Goghs A Starry Night ...the detail, the colors, I couldnt look away. Memorizing... Unbelievable... Wow. We stayed until closing, getting lost in paintings, and then ended the evening on a dinner cruise, with floor to ceiling windows looking out into all that is Paris. And it was at this moment, with a quite delicious meal in front of me and the backdrop of Paris surrounding me, that I wondered how one city could be so damn beautiful. Packed subway rides home, and now Im relaxing with a bottle of red. Bonne nuit Paris, I have you for two more days... for now.... ;)
