Today was a day of rejoicing! Sitting on Jerusha’s front - TopicsExpress

Today was a day of rejoicing! Sitting on Jerusha’s front porch, perched on a red lawn chair, I reconnected with my dear friend by having a good LONG visit! It’s been over 6 months since I made an “at home” Visiting Teaching visit and we both marveled at the vast difference this visit was compared to March, before she received her life saving transplant. At that time we stayed less than 15 minutes, scrubbed off any scent of a perfume, and did most of the talking with Jerusha gasping for air and her juggler vein pulsing madly. It was so wonderful to be able to see Jerusha today; rosy cheeked, filled with vitality and spunk once again and peppering our conversation with wit and testimony of the Lord’s goodness in our lives. I enjoyed hearing details about her journey and her tremendous gratitude to be given a second chance at life. We are ALL so grateful to the donor family for making today possible! As we visited, I considered all the wonderful people who have followed Jerusha’s story and the support she has felt from you all. Jerusha has asked me multiple times, “Way back in February, when you sat on my couch and told me that people would help me, did you have any idea it would be so big?” Honestly, I knew people would help but I had No Idea it would be so big! Jerusha’s story touched so peoples hearts… here and around the globe… and so many individuals have pitched in to help. It has been incredible being a participant in this exciting journey! I personally want to thank ALL those who helped plan, organize, run and participate in our various and multiple fundraisers. It was simply amazing to witness the unfolding of thoughts that were turned into powerful action. As I sat in the meetings, I watched in awe as person after person volunteered to help, each committee member eager to fulfill an assignment. I saw those who went the extra mile and then ANOTHER mile in bringing our plans to life. I witnessed true Synergy and it was AWESOME! It is said that Zion is: “The pure of heart” and “They were of one heart and one mind.” I found this to be true. I have had a taste of Zion in our working on Fundraisers for Jerusha and it was extraordinary! When I wrote the “Blurp” for Gofundme, I wrote about Savannah, “She still wears her smile and its only in her eyes you can see her deep worry and concern.” I’m happy to report, that Savannah’s smile is back! Paul and Savannah, you two have been so strong and valiant during this whole thing. Bless you for your courage and fortitude! Thank you again, EVERYONE for ALL your hard work in helping our dear friend and neighbor come home again! And, Jerusha, WELCOME HOME!!! We love you and we plan to celebrate your very LONG life for a very long time!!
