Today was a very hard and exhausting day. My neighbour, great friend and great human being, Diane Defries lost her battle with cancer over a week ago, she is survived by her 3 sons and her husband Stephen. Diane was a great help to my family, and at the age of 45, she left us WAY too soon. Her husband contacted me from her bedside and said that she wanted me to DJ at her wake...took a while for that to sink in, believe me. 20 odd years of being a DJ, Ive never been so scared at the thought of a gig... After the emotional service, which was eased by the sheer strength of Stephen and the boys who gave wonderful speeches at the church, my mind was still racing at the thought of DJing, and it was messing with me altogether. Once I started, It was safe to say it went well. We gave her a bloody good send off... It was an immense honour, and the pleasure of doing this for Diane and her family was ALL MINE. My life is all the more better for meeting this lady and her family. Rest easy Di. 💔🙏
