Today was awesome. A friends is actually doing something I believe in greatly and that is exposing colonial revised histories by bringing our pre-Western contact history. What is taught in the University in an extremely biased way is the unspoken oppression that history in Hawaii, and its inter-connectivity with the rest of the world seems to begin only after contact with Cook. This is such a huge and purposeful revision to history and ignores the truth which is that documented history is prevalent in many other corroborated and verifiable narratives showing much interaction of Hawaii and other countries any centuries before Cook stumbled upon Hawaii by accident. The reason is the illegal occupier steals not just material wealth and resources from Hawaii but also has asserted ownership of our history teaching only the rationalization and revision of wha has become the occupiers narrative- very different from the bigger picture of the the truth. This is done in order to rob the oppressed of their own identity and agency in procuring their own history first by documenting this false narrative in the occupiers language and then socially ostracizing the oppressed from their own language so that all they have to rely in is the narrative the occupier has invented. We need more people like this telling the truth on every platform unapologetically. I was reminded afterwards by another ray of hope that, and I quote, I am not your cereal box role model for the illegal occupation and that if anyone thinks they do it better than show us how its done. There are still awesome people left and not all of them are Uncle Toms like Luwella Leonardi and her friend Pono, its not my kuleana, Kealoha. Mahalo ke Akua for who refuse to accept that this is our reality when this is only an illegal occupation. Its never a good day to be illegally occupied and Uncle Tom-ed by your own people. Where the field negros at? Found two others today and the matrix just got a little bit smaller. Hulo!
