Today was my brothers court day. He was tried by the same judge on two different counts. He was fined 500 rub ($13) in the case where prosecution didnt have a case at all and witness testimony proved him innocent of the charges. The judge failed to explain the reason for the fine. In the 2nd case, my brother was fined 10000 rub ($275) despite lack of evidence and improper prosecution documents (photocopies of documents from the 1st case were used in the 2nd case). To sum it up, the prosecution alleged that Serguei was arrested twice by the same policemen, in the same location, at the same time, but under two distinctly different circumstances. The judge didnt blink an eye. There will be an appeal.
