Today was my last day as a coach at the Sports Academy. It was perhaps my most difficult day as its never fun to say goodbye. Even though I will still be involved with the team and will continue seeing/coaching Barracuda swimmers at the various meets, I feel that I need to thank my Sports Academy family. A special thanks goes to Dan Smith and Mark Huntsman for taking a chance on me and giving me an opportunity to be part of this awesome team. I have loved my job and have always felt support from my bosses. A big thank you goes out to you parents. Without you, I wouldnt have a job! Thank you for allowing me to part of your lives and the lives of your children. Thank you for your unwavering support and your willingness to always lend a helping hand. I would also like to thank the coaches that I have had the opportunity to work with the past six years. Thank you James Mason, Brian and Timbrel Knight, Mark Huntsman, Amy Peterson and Abbie Tyler for putting up with me and my childish antics. It has be an honor and privilege to have worked along side with each of you. The biggest thanks goes out to you swimmers. While there are far too many to mention, I want you to know how much I truly care for and love each and every one of you (even you Hunter Chase). You will probably never know the full impact that you have had on my life. Youve allowed me to be a kid and at times, be a little immature. Okay, immature a lot! More importantly, youve allowed me to share in your successes, failures and perhaps some of the best years of your lives. Thank you for teaching me so many important lessons. I will never forget you guys and will always be routing for you whether its in the pool or in life. Be good, swim fast and most importantly, never grow up. - Jerry
