Today was the first time I sat on Magic. I was very careful to give her lors of freedom to decide if, how and where to move. Before she came to me, her last experiences with riding were bad. The only way she knew how to deal with it, was by protesting through bucking, rearing and rising. Sitting on top of her confirmed my experience in the groundwork and working at liberty. Not enough physical balance! Shes been struggling in groundwork with her suppleness and balance, so no surprise here. Today I was at the stable with my husband, so he suggested to try and sit on her. I was reluctant to try this without him there. Not knowing what to expect. How would she react? Im so happy she accepted me on her back. Our training these last months were mostly about mental, emotional and spiritual balance. Her lack of physical balance needs more training through Straightness Training groundwork, longing, work in hand and at liberty. Also I will add some weight of my daughter during the training, to increase the training effect. And in time I will add my own weight again, so I can train her through riding. Onwards with our Straightness Training journey!
