Today we choose our RTI Activist of the Day as Sh.Raj Chingaravelu. Following are his achievements in the field of Activism listed at our Activist Directory. (1) I have successfully won a consumer case against Air Deccan for delayed flight. (2) I have successfully won many RTI cases against many authorities (@50 cases) on various topics such as : a. Refusal to provide information because there are already procedure available outside of RTI process. b. Excess charging for documents as per existing norms and ignoring RTI fees per GOs c. Refusal of information on the ground of exclusions d. Refusal of information on the ground of third party information e. Refusal of information on the ground the information is not readily available and thus needs to be compiled etc f. Penalties and many other complaints for lack of response, unfair denials etc. Got many penalties orders issued trying to sensitize various govt offices so that they all attend to RTI applications with enough seriousness!! (3) Successfully stayed few false criminal cases even when the police men (the whole hierarchy) were aiding the other party!!
