Today we took a big step to keep invasive carp out of Minnesotas waterways. My bipartisan provision to close the Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock within one year passed the Senate as part of the Water Resources Reform and Development Act and is headed to the Presidents desk. Invasive carp pose a major threat not just to our environment but also to our states recreation industry, which is critical to our economy. The bill also advances critical flood protection projects in Moorhead and Roseau, addresses overdue port and harbor maintenance in Duluth and upgrades locks and dams.
