Today were going to travel to all the way over to the Fujian Province in China, where we find city of Fuzhou. Fuzou is one of the largest cities in the Province and is famous for its sea views, mountain ranges, and various historical sites and monuments. Fuzou is a city where the fine arts and traditional touch live in harmony with modern business and growing industries. Many theaters and opera houses still put on ancient tales and plays while a a large sea port helps grow importing and exporting within the city. Fuzou artistry and crafting come from the many dynasties that warred and took turns occupying the land for many centuries. Today Fuzou is known for three main styles, known throughout China as the Three Super Excellencies. These three styles are bodiless lacquer ware, cork pictures, and Shoushan stone sculptures. These artistic styles were passed down and can be found in the many temples and historic buildings still standing. Look at the beautiful pieces we found in Fozou and you can see the styles come alive before you. With back to school here, this is the perfect time to add a piece of this Chinese gem to your collection.
