Todays Incident of Hooliganism: (Guys & Girls out for Navratri, - TopicsExpress

Todays Incident of Hooliganism: (Guys & Girls out for Navratri, please read) I was returning home via BRTS route, I see 3 bikes following 2 girls on an Activa. 2 of these bikes (consisting of a 5 ppl group) & another bike with 2 people. I saw them following the girls from Chandranagar Bus-stand. I just followed these hooligans from a distance, ready to take a video of them. The group of 2 bikes kept on flashing lights, thankfully they stopped at Shah-e-alam. The 3rd bike with 2 guys, still followed the girls & cautiously followed them. The girls then stopped at an Icecream joint near Rambaug & the 2 guys at first went ahead. Then to my dismay after traveling 300-400 mts, they took a U-turn. Since this was more than suspicious behavior, I decided to Turn around & follow them. The guys stopped at a Pan shop near the icecream joint & started staring at the girls from a distance. This was more than enough to understand their intentions were to follow the girls. I called up a friend who lived nearby & confirmed if he at home in-case help is needed. I then decided to talk to the girls. Directly pointing at those 2 guys (They could see me pointing at them & talking to the girls) I asked them if they knew who they were & told them about how they have been following them for long. The girls denied knowing them, to which I started walking towards those 2 guys. It wouldnt be wise to confront them, so I walked towards them while looking at them and dialing my friends number I stopped at a distance of couple of feet & stared at their number plate to let them know I am gonna inform someone about them as well as their vehicle number. This was more than enough for them to get up on their bikes and flee the spot, before my friend even picked up the call. Went back to the girls told them to note down the vehicle number and send it to someone if needed, to which they said a friend was on his way. Assured of their safety & with their appreciation, I acknowledged and left the spot. Now, to the GIRLS reading this: Enjoy Navratri to your best, when going back home/ to venue, if you find some people following you or harassing you: - MAKE A FUSS ABOUT IT. Dont just ignore. You can stop at any of the junctions with police vans, that should be enough to ward them off. If needed call up the police or someone who can escort you safely. To the GUYS: If you see anything similar happening, dont just back off. Be smart, be vigilant. You dont need to confront hooligans, you just need to make sure they fail at their intentions. I hope you all have a safe Navratri on the remaining days.
