Todays NYTimes comic, See Something, Say Something by Michael Kupperman and David Rees is a grim cartoon about the world of billionaires and the rest of us, but I have to admit that it also made me nostalgic for the ant farm ads of my childhood that it parodies. I remember them fascinating me, along with offers (usually in the backs of comic books) for your own chinchilla farm and for scads of those plastic green G.I.s that you could land on an imaginary Iwo Jima and re-fight that already long-gone battle.
