Todays Prayer September 3, 2014 Good morning my dear Lord. I pray to my great God and Savior in Jesus’ name. Father, thank You for another day. With the speed of light, we are able to see and hear the news from around the world. We pray for peace but we see the wars. We see the images of barbarism. Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the wicked; for there will be no prospect for the evil man; the lamp of the wicked will be put out. (Proverbs 24:19-20) Lord, if I may ask; when? When will the lamp of the wicked be put out? I pray for images of hope. And I know we have assurance of hope because of Jesus. Father, I pray we will stop, look, and realize how You’ve blessed us. And You, oh God, are still sovereign over all the earth! Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways! You have sown much, and bring little; you eat, but do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes.” Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways! Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,” says the LORD. (Haggai 1:5-8) Lord, I praise You, for You alone are deserving of glory. Help me to get this message across to those who need to hear it. I see people who think only of themselves. It’s me, me, me; they are deceived by their selfish motives. Your prophet Haggai saw what many refuse to see! I pray these words spoken by Lord Jesus, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33) But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them. (Proverbs 24:25) Father, I pray Your Holy Spirit will overcome us and motivate us. I pray our faith will become activated, that we might get it. Oh, what a God we serve! You love us! You want us! But we must trust and obey for there’s no other way. Bless You Father God! I pray today will be a new beginning in someone’s life by following Jesus. I pray we would serve You with much enthusiasm, gladness and joy. In the blessed name of Christ Jesus I pray, amen.
