Todays Special: Karma Creamed Tuna with noodles and fresh mushrooms-(no it does not have canned soup, lol). Curried parm cream sauce with fresh mushrooms, celery, white onions, and garlic sauté, tuna, and egg noodles. This is not your grandmothers recipe-my new creation. Early eaters gave it rave reviews. Dessert is peanut butter pie, AND for our gluten free friends-financier cookies! Made with almond flour, cocoa, egg whites, butter, confectionary sugar and lots of love-I think these are a keeper. Kevin (one of our wonderful customer friends) came in last evening and ate three! They are small and yummy! They look like mini muffins and taste heavenly!! The flour is a special order, so the cookies are a little pricey (1.50), but in French bakeries they sell for double or more (of course, I do know we are in Mebane, not Paris or NY). The cookies are pronounced fin-un-see-ay and are tender morsels that rise due to the beaten egg whites. They taste like a combination of almond and chocolate and are crispy outside and soft inside. Come eat them today...if you dont they may be eaten by me!!!! Soup today will be-posted shortly. I havent decided what to make. Thinking.... See you soon, stay warm!
