Todays Tidbit 11/24/2013 The nights have gone quiet now where I live. No insects sing their songs and no frog croak to a watery sky. It is only the blustery winds and the rustle created by deer hooves that stir the primordial darkness. The cold and lean times have taken hold, but with them come a greater sense of self, if one takes the time to go inward and listen. Also of note, today is the last day in the Celtic Tree Month of Reed, my very own lunar month and a time for honoring the cycle of life-death-rebirth as well as our current placement within the cycle and the greater whole. This has also been a time for communicating with ancestors and departed loved ones. If there is anything that has been left undone or unsaid, be sure to tie up those lose ends today before we move into the month of Elder tomorrow. As for the cosmos, an early challenge is the Moon in Leo forming a square to Saturn in Scorpio, an aspect that can lead to moodiness and brooding over lost love or problems never resolved. This Moon-Saturn conflict also begins a 27+ hour void lunar uncertainty zone that lasts until tomorrow. Trying to make things happen your way under these ambiguous circumstances is not in the cards. All shades and tones of orange will be your best colors to wear and meditate on today. Add in an onyx or hematite accessory for extra good mojo. Recommended herbs and incense include nag champa, sage, sweetgrass, yarrow, and goldenrod.
