Todays combo Poetry On The Fleurieu & Friendly Street Poets double book launch was very successful with about 50 attending the afternoon event. 15 poets read in the Open Mic Session & after the break, Richard Kleinig launched the Anthology No 38, The Infinite Dirt & John Brydons Single Poet Collection, Accidents With Ink. Over a dozen poets read their poems from the book & then the event finished with John reading from his book. The setting was beautiful, the downstairs area of the Signal Point Gallery with views of Lake Alexandrina, the Wharf Precinct & the Steamranger Train passing by. It was wonderful to have Leah Grace turn up so some more of the Friendly Street Poets could meet the person who does so very much for our regular poetry reading & for all arts in this part of the Fleurieu Peninsular. It was great to see many travelling down from the big smoke to attend & there were quite a few in the audience who had come to hear the words of others. Thank you to all who came & congratulations to FSP for a great southern launch of your 2 books. And thanks also to Moira & John & others for helping with refreshments, raffle sales & membership forms Our little reading on the south coast is a rocking good event & Im proud to have been part of getting it started.
