Todays cup of wisdom: LAZINESS This is an important message! Do not miss out on what Our heavenly Father has for you today! Self examination is important for growth, without seeking Gods word, we will not know the way to go. Some subjects are not as pleasing as others, but the ones that do not please us are just as important as the ones that do. Our God is a God of order, He is always there for us, and has provided all we need to grow, be strengthened, gain faith, and wisdom. If we do not seek, we will not find! As followers of Christ we are called to serve the Lord in all we do. God warns us about laziness in the scriptures that follow. I was truly blessed by this study and I pray that you are too. It is time to stop asking God what he can do for us, because the truth is that GOD CAN DO ANYTHING FOR US! HE HAS NO LIMITATIONS! The true question is what can we do for God, and are we doing it? God bless each reader in Jesus name! Love to all in Christ!♥ 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 King James Version (KJV) 24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. Revelation 14:12 King James Version (KJV) 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Romans 12:11 English Standard Version (ESV) 11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit,[a] serve the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6 English Standard Version (ESV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths 1 Thessalonians 5:14 English Standard Version (ESV) 14 And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle,[a] encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. 1 Thessalonians 4:10-12 English Standard Version (ESV) 10 for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more, 11 and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, 12 so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one. Proverbs 12:27 King James Version (KJV) 27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. Ecclesiastes 10:18 English Standard Version (ESV) 18 Through sloth the roof sinks in, and through indolence the house leaks Proverbs 13:4 English Standard Version (ESV) 4 The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied. 2 Thessalonians 3:10 English Standard Version (ESV) 10 For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. Proverbs 10:4 English Standard Version (ESV) 4 A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. Proverbs 21:25 English Standard Version (ESV) 25 The desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to labor. Proverbs 18:9 English Standard Version (ESV) 9 Whoever is slack in his work is a brother to him who destroys John 7:17 English Standard Version (ESV) 17 If anyones will is to do Gods[a] will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. 1 Corinthians 10:7 English Standard Version (ESV) 7 Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.” 2 Corinthians 12:20 English Standard Version (ESV) 20 For I fear that perhaps when I come I may find you not as I wish, and that you may find me not as you wish—that perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder. Isaiah 1:19-20 English Standard Version (ESV) 19 If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; 20 but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Ephesians 2:10 English Standard Version (ESV) 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Proverbs 6:1-15 King James Version (KJV) 6 My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger, 2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth. 3 Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend. 4 Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids. 5 Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler. 6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: 7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, 8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. 9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? 10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man. 12 A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth. 13 He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; 14 Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. 15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy. AAAAAAMEN! How long will we sleep? Consider the ant and gain wisdom! How small yet how mighty! Working diligently! In all we do we must remember who we truly are working for! Not your boss, or your company, your friends or your family, but GOD HIMSELF! We can hide from everyone except God! God sees it all! God has blessed us with employment, an opportumity to serve him! He sees us resting, sleeping, taking breaks, complaining, serving our own selves,He sees the ipods and telephones coming out at work, sneakily behind the backs of the company! He sees the personal phone calls on business time. He sees the trips to the store to go shopping, or pulling along side the road to slumber on company time. He sees that we rest when called to service, offering up lame excuses to back out of service to His kingdom! He sees our hearts, and if our hearts are truly for Him, then our desire is to work diligently toward the crown at the end of this race! Colossians 3:23-25 English Standard Version (ESV) 23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. 25 For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality. AAAAAMEN! God is fair and just, there is no partiality! Holy Father in heaven, we thank you and praise you for your word, for the power of the Holy Spirit to enlighten us, help us, train us, and lead us into your righteousness! Forgive us where we fall short, and help us to change! Lord help us to serve you, to honor you in all we do! Help us Father to be holy as you are holy! Bless us with your knowledge and the wisdom to use it wisely, applying your word to our lives, doing as it says! Lord we are not perfect, but thanks be to God that we have a high priest who intercedes for us daily! Father you are PERFECT! Help us to run this race with vigor and zeal, let us not be slothful in our service to you! Lord help us to honor you, to glorify you! You have empowered each part of this body to do your will, and if one is not working, the entire body will suffer! Lord we need you! Prompt us and protect us! Help us to be willing and obedient that we may eat every good fruit of the land! In Jesus name, by the power of His blood, by the Power of the Holy Spirit, for Your glory Father, for the glory of Jesus Christ and His everlasting Kingdom to come! AAAAAMEN!
