Todays decluttering mission for Sunday, December 21st, is to declutter an area to store all of your holiday decorations. Right now, this week, weve really been focused on Christmas decorations, but I know we almost all have decorations for other holidays as well. During the course of the year, when it makes sense, some of the daily decluttering missions will be to declutter that particular seasons decorations. Today though, since weve really cleared out a lot of the excess Christmas stuff, and that also tends to be the majority of most peoples decorations, I think it makes sense to plan an area in your home where you can store it all. To the extent that it isnt already ready to hold all your decorations, todays the day to clean it out a bit so you can easily place all your storage containers in the area without feeling like youre playing Tetris, and shifting everything all around. It makes it a much easier job to both put things away and then get them back out again later. In the picture for this mission you can see an attic storage system I really like, called AtticMaxx. But I like this picture also because it shows how this person is storing all their holiday decorations in one area, which makes it convenient, and also using color coded tubs so its easy to figure out what seasons decorations are which. I would also suggest adding labels onto the boxes for just a bit more information for whoever is pulling them down out of storage, or putting them back, but overall, this looks like a dream storage area for holiday decorations to me! (You can check out the AtticMaxx system on Amazon at the link if youre interested: affiliate link: amzn.to/1DQYBCa) Id love to hear how you organize and store your holiday decorations, and where you put them -- attic, garage, or somewhere else entirely. Also, do you use color coded tubs like this, or do you have another system? Remember, pictures are always encouraged, since it really gives people a good idea of what the possibilities are. There is almost always multiple correct ways to store items, you just have to figure out what works best for you!
