*Todays food diary* Meal 1 @ 12.30pm: omelette (1 yolk, 3 whites) with spinach, 1 maple back (fat cut off) rasher, cherry tomatoes and a sprinkle of Parmesan. Meal 2 @ 4pm (photo 2): spicy chilli chicken fillet with broccoli and caramelised red onions (in extra Virgin olive oil) Meal 3 @ 7pm (photo 2): same as meal 2 - I cooked twice the amount and threw it all into a lunch box for when I was out Snack @ 9pm: I felt really hungry so had 20 cashew nuts on my way home Meal 4 @ 9.30pm: 1 beef burger, 1 egg white, fried cherry tomatoes, caramelised red onion, asparagus and broccoli. Im aiming to eat at least every 3.5 to 4 hours, and just like body builders do, Im timing every meal. Im finding the more regular my meals are, the hungrier Im becoming. Thats a good sign... This means that my metabolism is speeding up! Why is a fast metabolism important for fatloss? Well.. Each time you eat, enzymes in your cells will breakdown and convert food into energy (as a form of glucose) which allows your body to carry out normal day to day functions like keeping your heart beating and your brain ticking over. A fast metabolism (or BMR - energy expended while you are active) means youll burn more calories per hour and per day. This will also transfer to while your body s at rest, speeding up your RMR (this is when you are inactive eg while sleeping). Why is it essential to have a fast BMR and RMR? The more calories you burn per hour/day, the easier it will be to drop body fat! Your body will consistently be working and expending energy to function properly. Oh.. Its important to mention here also that if youve a high muscle mass, the rate at which you burn calories will be even HIGHER again! Your body has to work harder to feed and retain that muscle than what it does fatty tissue. This again will speed up your BMR and make it much easier to drop body fat. You cant out train a bad diet! You just cant! If you want results you need to eat the correct food, at the right time, consistently and intelligently. Im not preaching, Im literally just sharing what Ive learned from my own mistakes! Stop counting calories, its nonsense! Eat regularly, lift heavy weights, and results will come!
