Todays game on Kingswood welcomed hull Utd aka St. Andrews,, and stats was stacked heavily against ferry, with hull boasting no fewer than 4 ex-profesional or semi profesional players as they aim for semi profesional status next year in the northern counties league,, ferry was without 4 high profile players and the feeling wasnt that great amongst the fans,, ferry started a very balanced side to face the hull including a long awaited return of sam Bennett after been side lined for 1 year, ferry have conceded a colossal 13 goals in their last 3 games and have failed to keep a clean sheet all season conceding 2 or less goals in only 2 games, hull entered the bransholme cage with the 3 points on the board and bets on Facebook was wagering 7-0 predictions with Kinsley boasting a hat trick,, so lets just read on to find out if stats really do prove to be true,,,,, ferry started a 4-4-2 formation to match uniteds line up and it was apparent within minute tactics was well thought out and ferry pressed with pace and determination , the ferry midfield was by far the better and all the play ran throw jagger and Henderson spreading it wide to Bennett and smith as often as possible and was also becoming a nightmare for the right and left backs who dragged their wingers back to double up when needed,, chances was far and between in the first half seeing Gibsons best save come from his own player who glanced a headed just below the bar but was superbly tipped over,, hull managed a 10 minute spell before the break that saw ferrys centre half pairing Heath and Taylor called into action no fewer than 4 times,, half time 0-0,,, the team talk from the managing staff was quick to pick up on hulls only real threat the long ball Tactic with the wind and now this wasnt going to work against the wind,, 2nd half started as the 1st half finished with both teams pressing for a goal, ferry was quickly on the back foot and lazy tackles was becoming to frequent and finally hull managed the breakthrough with a world class free kick from ex-ferry player Kinsley, hull huddled to celibate like it was a World Cup winner, ferry had to respond and player manager Taylor made his first changes bringing off front man lee who had suffered a asthma attack hours before and brought on res player walker who sat on the right side of mid and Bennett pushed up front to carry on been a busy bee, this seemed a good change as ferry dominated the mid part of the 2nd half with hulls keeper Rambo called into action every few minutes almost playing as a sweeper, Bennett was unlucky not to latch onto a badly sliced clearance from Rambo that saw the ball go back 20 yards, the new pairing of Scothorne and Bennett was almost walking the ball passes a deflated centre back pairing of Taylor and Swanee ,, and on the 65th minute perfectly weighted through ball from Bennett saw Scothorne make Rambo fall the floor before slotting it into a gaping net 1-1, ferry made the final 2 changes to bring on fresh legs and try push for the win, but credit to hull who tried to get the ball down and play football but never really got into the box but did still manage to hit the post and bar with some pot shots and crosses, hulls Clark and Kinsley with be the players sneaking home today after sending the ball well well over the fence and out the school grounds,, the final 5 minutes was all ferry, and a shout for a penalty and a possible sending off for hull was about the only thing to report on ,, manager Taylor added the following,, although we went into this game treating it as a cup final I feel fitness was our biggest opponent today, we tired after 60 minutes and really put pressure on our back 5, we spent the last few seasons at the top and we know how to win games but players have had work commitments this season and I cant find a regular squad, not taking anything away from my lads today fitness in the league it a mile above what Iv witnessed before and thats what let us down, luckily today hull wasnt any fitter than us and that was a big help,, finally thanks to the players from the res and 4ths who got a kit on
