Todays stat is brought you by the upcoming cool (for July standards) period: Many of our Facebook followers have been expressing how this summer has seemed mild (especially in comparison to the last few). Well, in fact, it has been slightly cooler than average through the first 43 days of climatological summer (since June 1st). The average temperature during that period has been 74.2 degrees...with the normal being 74.8. So we have been 0.6 degrees below normal thus far this summer. This summer currently ranks as the 42nd coolest on the 126-year record for Kansas City but, we will climb on that list in the short term with well below average temperatures expected through the work week.
