This is our personal Roll Call of Heroes well be remembering today - but I would ask everyone to please - take a moment today, to remember all of our countrys heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Staff Sergeant Lester Buddy Kinney, D Co, 2-505 Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd ABN DIV, KIA near Iskandariyah, Iraq on 27 January 2004. Captain Travis Patriquin, 2-3 Field Artillery Regiment, 1st CAV DIV, KIA in Anbar Province, Iraq, 6 December 2006. Specialist Kelly Mixon, H Co, 3-2 Cavalry Regiment, KIA in Maiwand District, Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, 8 December 2010. Sergeant James Doc Ayube H Co, 3-2 Cavalry Regiment, KIA in Maiwand District , Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, 8 December 2010. And now, among so many others we share, named and unnamed .. Command Sergeant Major Martin Gunny Barreras, 2-5 Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored DIV. WIA Herat Province, Afghanistan, 6 May 2014, Died of Wounds at San Antonio Military Medical Center, 13 May 2014. If you are able, save them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go. Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always. Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own. And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind. I just ask that you take one moment to remember those Heroes who no longer can.
