Todays the day! The Health Heritage Tree Project officially kicks - TopicsExpress

Todays the day! The Health Heritage Tree Project officially kicks off today! Join us in celebrating National Minority Health Month by helping us promote this unique awareness project. Although breast cancer continues to impact people from all backgrounds, there are significant differences in mortality rates among racial groups. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among African American women. Despite having lower incidence rates, African American women are 41% more likely to die from this disease. The Health Heritage Tree Project invites African American women across North Central Alabama to talk with their families, friends, co-workers, church members, and others about the importance of knowing family health history. Knowing your family history of not only breast cancer, but any health condition, can help you gain a better understanding of your personal risk and live a healthier life.
