Today’s P & W thought: Amazing Grace … What do you have in - TopicsExpress

Today’s P & W thought: Amazing Grace … What do you have in your life that you consider to be good? Where did it come from? If you are honest with yourself, you will realize that everything that you have that you consider to be good did not come from anything that you may have done. You did not cause your life. You did not create your salvation. You did not earn your family. You did not earn Gods love. It is so interesting and sad that many of us still feel that we can earn Gods love and salvation. We see God as someone that we have to impress to earn whatever He gives us. We simply do not understand GRACE. Grace has been defined as unmerited divine assistance. Unmerited means unearned. FULL STOP!!! In other words, we can do nothing to earn Gods grace and mercy. All that we have to do is accept it because it is free! Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves; it is a gift of God. In our lives, we constantly have to earn things. I work hard and put a lot of time into school so I can earn good grades. I have a job so that I can earn money and eventually buy the things I need. I respect and listen to my parents so I earn their trust. I try to be professional to my professors so I earn their respect. I feel like I am always trying to earn all of these, plus more, things in my life. But here’s some great news. WE DON’T HAVE TO EARN GOD’S GRACE! He tells us right in this verse, it’s a gift from Him. There is nothing we can do to earn or deserve it. It’s just ours. When we realize that God has given us this glorious gift not because we earned it, but solely because He loves us so very much, it makes it easier to give up our lives to Him and follow Him in everything we do. By being willing to accept God’s grace, we are giving ourselves the fuel we need to obey and love God with everything we have. My dear friend… You can do nothing to earn God’s grace. It’s yours, no matter what you do, because He is crazy about you. Let us Pray: Lord, make my heart ready to accept the amazing grace that You offer me. Thank you for all the gifts You provide for me that I don’t have to earn. You are a great God. Help me to continue to make the daily decision to follow You in Jesus’ name I pray…Amen Have a Graceful Monday my friends Dedicated to my young sister Lulu Francis whose spiritual growth amazes me every single day!!! May the Lord’s Grace abound you....
