Today’s message is preached by Pastor Benthal. In many - TopicsExpress

Today’s message is preached by Pastor Benthal. In many countries, the church is illegal, yet there are still believers. It is estimated that there are 50 million believers in the underground church in China. There are people in some countries that can and have received the death penalty for owning a bible. Yet they still do. And they still worship, even at the cost of their lives. Jesus explains in Matthew 10:16-20 that “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.” The church will always survive. God spoke through the prophets and the Old Testament ends with Malachi. Then, for 400 years, God stopped speaking. For 400 years, not a word. And yet as we see, there were still people seeking earnestly for the messiah to arrive. The church lived through it. The church will always survive. In today’s world, where Christian values are trampled upon and we are called the intolerant people, we are being slowly pushed further and further from society’s norms. This is to be expected. Jesus said in John 3:5, “You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” We may be trampled, we may be ridiculed, but the body of believers will always be here. The church will always survive. Stand firm to the end.
