Todd Welker/WA DNR SE Region Director presented at tonights F&S Meeting. His update on the Snag Canyon & Cle Elum Ridge fires was at best, sobering. Resources are spread thin, management decisions are down to...what do we protect and what burns. The Snag Canyon fire blew up today and worst case scenario from two days ago is now the best case scenario. With that said, Todd also stated that he called in for a federal Type 1 Incident Team and they arrive tomorrow night. The next 48 hours could be crucial. They are doing everything possible and are doing are great job. If you see a firefighter in town be sure to say Thank You! The Kittitas County F&S Club donated over 230 pounds of fresh peaches, apples and other fruit along with 40 large pizzas to firefighters. That was a big hit and they greatly appreciated it. We will continue supporting them the only way we can at the moment, with food! We may have a need and call out for volunteers in the future. Well keep you posted.
