Tomorrow I am traveling to Israel to participate in the American Israel Educational Foundation (AIEF) Seminar. Over the next week myself and over 20 fellow members of the House Republican Caucus, including two-thirds of the Freshman GOP class, Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, will have the opportunity to meet with Israeli and Palestinian officials and a variety of economic, military, religious and peace officials. Additionally we will visit key strategic sites, including the Gaza border and Golan Heights, to gain a better understanding first hand of the challenges in the region. This trip is entirely privately funded, with no funds coming from taxpayers or the Israeli government. It is my intention to post an update following my trip, filling you in on my takeaways and thoughts.
