Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 31, New Years Eve, is not an official holiday and all City government offices, including courts, will be open and operating on a normal schedule. Garbage and recycling collections, mail delivery, and the Staten Island ferry follow a normal schedule. Alternate side parking regulations will be in effect. All NYC public schools remain closed through Friday, January 2, 2015, for Winter Recess. Students return to school on Monday, January 5, 2015. Thursday, January 1, New Years Day, all government offices are closed, including courts, and there is no mail delivery. ASP regulations are suspended. You do not have to pay the parking meter. No stopping, no standing, and no parking regulations are suspended, except where those regulations are in effect at any time or 7 days a week. There is no garbage, organics, or recycling collection on New Years Day. If Thursday is your regular collection day, place your items out after 4 PM on Thursday, January 1. on.nyc.gov/1c2OjuJ
