Tomorrow at Coopers Union in NYC the Food Sovereignty Prize will honor some amazing groups from Haiti, India, Mali, and Basque Country at a ceremony in New York City. These movements are building concrete, sustainable solutions to poverty and hunger--fighting for democratic access to food, land, seeds, and markets, and justice for food workers and fishers. The next day, in a stark and distressing contrast, the World Food Prize will be given to executives from Monsanto and Syngenta (on World Food Day no less). In whatever way youre able, please help spread word far and wide about the inspiring, change-making accomplishments of the Food Sovereignty Prize winners--all profiled here: foodsovereigntyprize.org/. This fine piece by the US Food Sovereignty Alliance and Food Sovereignty Prize committee offers some excellent background and context: alternet.org/food/meet-opposite-monsanto-these-are-folks-really-feed-world More info on Facebook: https://facebook/FoodSovereigntyPrize Twitter: #Foodsovprize
