Tomorrow is the big day. Flashbacks of Camdens horrendous - TopicsExpress

Tomorrow is the big day. Flashbacks of Camdens horrendous hospitalization after his Glenn keep surfacing. He suffered set back after set back, complication after complication. It was his contracting chicken pox a few days after his Glenn that caused most of his complications and he is much stronger this time around, but it doesnt make me any less scared for the what ifs that may be coming his way in the next few days and weeks. Tomorrow I will put on my game face. My mask of smiles and pure positivity. It is the face that most of you see when you wonder in awe how a mom could be that strong. Well, Ill let you in on a well-known fact among us moms of special kids: we are strong because we have to be. Not because we want to or because we were born with some secret super power. We are moms, just doing our job to care for our kids. If we dont step up then who will? So tomorrow morning, I will watch my two sweet boys play together. I will hold back tears of sorrow and anxiety as I tell Nolan that we are taking Cam to the hospital to get his numbers checked. I will try to remain lighthearted and cheerful as we walk Camden into the OR preop and discuss his surgical plan with the parade of anesthesiologists, cardiologists, fellows, and surgical team members. I will let that sweet boy watch as much Caillou as his heart desires as he is prepped for surgery. And I will carry him back to the operating table and hold him down and comfort him while he is gassed off to never never land. And then I will do the hardest thing of all. I will leave. I will give up all control of his health and safety and place my faith in strangers. Camden should go in around 11am tomorrow. Thank you for all the love and support, we feel our Village surrounding us with hope and faith and will keep you posted tomorrow
