Tomorrow is the eighty-second anniversary of the birth of the soprano Joy Clements, who often appeared at the New York City Opera and the Metropolitan Opera. Miss Marsee sang Cherubino to her Susanna, in Le nozze di Figaro, including a particularly memorable production at Wolf Trap Farm Park, with a cast that also included Norman Treigle and Phyllis Curtin! In 2005, Miss Clements died from complications of multiple sclerosis. Five years later, La Marsee recalled the soprano, that she was very sweet and a joy to hear and act with on stage.
