Fitzgerald, who has released two full-length albums, is currently working on a third set for release in the summer of 2014. Described by the Columbia Daily Tribune as “soulful and beautifully aching, a sort of humanistic gospel music,” Fitzgerald’s latest album, “Quitting the Machine,” contained a song named by the Columbia Daily Tribune as of the best local tracks of 2013 — “Good Names.” Fitzgerald hits the road with an accomplished guitarist, Ian Vardell, who accompanies her with tasteful guitar licks, drawing on a synthesis of country and bluegrass, with hints of blues and Americana. In addition, he bellows booming baritone harmonies, creating a strangely full sound for a duo act. A headliner at the Citizen Jane film festival for two consecutive years and a featured musician in the upcoming 2014 True/False film festival, Fitzgerald has performed her rootsy Americana and sleek indie rock anthems in venues all over Missouri, the Midwest and now the Southeast. Albums and memorabilia will be available for sale at the February 4th performance.
