Tomorrow promises to be another day to expect a full plate of manna from heaven. The Bread of Life will be available for all to taste and see that the Lord is good. Karen, Freds wife will be with us from New York. It will be good to see her. The Church wanting our pews will be coming next week to pick them up so we may be a little tight in the fellowship hall just one more Sunday. The conflict of the will is an ongoing struggle for all of us and will be presented and expanded upon from our Wednesday night service. The folks who looked at Pastor and Kims farm on Thursday are apparently very interested. Having a reasonable offer today would be a blessing, and a very precise answer to a very specific prayer. Thanks for your prayers. Brian is looking for a home to rent in the Belfast / Searsmont / Washington area. Anyone that might have a lead please let him know. Keep Dan and Priscilla and Ted and Tanya in prayer as they prepare to close and move into their new homes in the next several weeks. Lets keep our No Greater Love food banquet in prayer. Thank you for all the servant hearts that do such a great job in providing food for the hungry and needy, and mostly revealing Christ in the process. Is there someone in church you see but do not really know? Why not take the lead tomorrow in introducing yourself . You might just find a great friend is only a few words away. Fresh from the Throne August 16,2014 Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, Indeed, has God said, You shall not eat from any tree of the garden? Genesis 3:1 And the tempter came and said to Him, If you are the son of God, command that these stones become bread. Matthew 4:3 My People are destroyed for lack of knowledge... Hosea 4:6 Satan has three primary methods for defeating the believer in their walk with God and thus minimizing the completion of the work they are called upon to do. The first and perhaps the easiest is to keep the child of God from knowing what God has said. Ignorance of the Word through neglect of the Word or a continual diet of milk instead of meat will foster Sunday feel good believers with no substance for the details of life in the week ahead. We are not called to live by every emotion but rather by every Word of God. Emotional highs on Sunday will not sustain you when the struggle wages during the week. Capacity for living a victorious life is found only in a steady diet of truth with the follow through of implementing it. I shall run the way of Thy commandments, for Thou wilt enlarge my heart. (Psalm 119:32). There can be little excuse in most cultures today for not having a thorough grasp of what God has declared through His written testimony, the Bible. Read it, study it and find a body of believers that are being taught the whole counsel of God. The second strategy of Satan is to cause the believer to question or distort what God has said. God had never told Adam and Eve that they could not eat from any tree, only one tree. Many of the false cults in the world today are the result of this cosmic lie. They privately interpret the scriptures to their own destruction. ...in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. (2 Peter 3:16). They twist the scriptures to fit into their own world view. The Jehovah Witnesses and the Mormons are but two of the better known sects that have distorted entire portions of the scripture and have minimized the work of Christ on the cross. That tree at times may look appealing but to eat of it brings death. The third attack of Satan is against the person of Jesus Christ. If you are the son of God... has given rise to all kinds of skepticism as to the validity of the claims of Christ Himself. Jesus many times revealed during His earthly life that he was indeed God in person. Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I Am. (John 8:58). The eternal is had chosen to manifest Himself in a human body but did not stop being who he was in the process. And the Word became flesh... (John 1:14) And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power... (Hebrews 1:3). Only God qualifies to take away the sin of the world. Only the blood of the spotless lamb of God is pure enough to avenge the wrath of God so that reconciliation is possible between fallen man and God. And he saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no one to intercede; then His own arm brought salvation to Him... (Isaiah 59:16). Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. (Mark 13:31). Forever, O Lord, Thy word is settled in heaven. (Psalm 119:89). The Word is settled. The work of Jesus Christ is finished. May it be settled in your heart as well.
