Tomorrow, the city of Dallas will honor in remembrance the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of President John Kennedy. I remember the day as if it were yesterday. I was in 1st grade, Mrs. Weiners class. It was announced over the PA and we stood and prayed. Living in the Dallas area, I have listened to friends who lived here, then, talk about it. Not being from here, I never knew there was so much hatred towards Dallas after it happened. I never knew that there was such political disruption during that time. I am seeing and learning history through different eyes and voices and it is really interesting.....a real eye-opening experience for me and I am inspired to learn more.... On a selfish note....they have blocked my way to and from work this week as I drive by the schoolbook depository and Dealey Plaza every day. I will be glad when it is over so my daily drive will get back to a better normal. :)
