Tomorrow we regather after a short pause. Time to momentarily look - TopicsExpress

Tomorrow we regather after a short pause. Time to momentarily look back at the last year. These nomadic lives seldom leave space for punctuation and reflection. it sometimes feels like a Kerouacian scroll, a jumble of hotel rooms, airports, theatres, juggling patterns and ballet steps. In the mist of this it is the ever growing family of artists and performers that keep us sane, surrogate obsessive children, meal sharing brothers and sisters. This year saw 100 shows across the globe, Slavic escapades in Belarus and Poland, Censorship in the far east, Clöwns & Queens in Shoreditch, a Dutch/Belgian tour, site specifics of assorted sizes in various countries, multiple visits to Portugal, France, Germany, Belgium and Spain. We also commissioned a string quintet from the magical Nimrod Borenstein, and sketched soon to be premiered choreographies with Ludo Ondiviela. We spent time with ballet dancers more co-ordinated than we could ever imagine and sketched more juggling patterns than we will ever need, mermaids embraces, Rovaniemi shuffles, hippy squirrels… Our office was stretched to breaking point, and was held together by an army of resilient and creative young women. Thomas J M Wilson spent more hours than he bargained for finishing a book on the companys first two decades. The book will finally see the light next spring. In two weeks we premiere 4 x 4 (Ephemeral Architectures) at the London Mime Festival with further premieres in France, Germany and Finland planned. Smashed starts the year in Hungary and then visits a multitude of new countries, including the Australia, USA, Russia, Turkey and Hong Kong. Other events will take us to Japan and South America. We are lucky little beans. All of this in exchange for throwing some things in the air. We can but be grateful. Thanks to all who helped these adventures!
