Tonight I am delighted to introduce two very fine young men who have all important roles in Romeo & Juliet First up it is Rob Horton who plays Friar Laurence................ Rob was Artistic Director of his own independent theatre company(RAA Theatre) in the UK and received the Stanislavski System from Mikhail Mokeev of the Moscow Art Theatre. He has played the title roles in HAMLET and MACBETH, and his film and TV work include PJ Hogan’s ‘Mental’ and Michael O’Halloran’s award winning ‘The Dossier Case’. Rob is shortly to be seen at the Melbourne Festival in THE BALD PRIMA DONNA And secondly a man who is, it seems, busier now than he has ever been...... and in this show he gets to be 2 people - The prologue presenter and the all important Apothecary - played by .......................Joel Beskin Actor, Director, Teacher, Publicist, Arts Administrator and Radio personality - Joel never too far from the stage. A veteran all-round actor, Joel is returning to his first love, Shakespeare, having appeared in productions of TWELFTH NIGHT, THE TEMPEST, HENRY V, THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, JULIUS CAESAR, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, KING LEAR, MACBETH and as Polonius in HAMLET - and now, R&J.
