Tonight I gave a talk in Los Angeles about the idea of defenselessness as it is used in A COURSE IN MIRACLES. I spoke about its application both individually and collectively. The Course says defense is an attack. At one point, I said the US Defense Dept. could just as easily be called the Attack Department since clearly it attacks more than it defends...all in the name of defense, of course! Which is exactly the point in the Course: that we end of attacking because we think we need to defend. Around that point in my talk, several people got up and walked out. Im pondering whether that means I did the wrong thing, or the right thing...
