Tonight I participated in government activities and interviewed - TopicsExpress

Tonight I participated in government activities and interviewed under Randy Rowse, Mayor pro tem, - as for whatever reason, Helene Schneider had a conflict - and was not present for these deliberations. We were told by Rowse that we had unlimited time to address why we desire to join whatever Commission we are applying. However, Randy Rowse would interrupt me, causing me to studder, telling me to hurry up. This is all on TV. Being handicapped, and on Medicare, it doesnt appear I benefited ADA guidelines. I was simply reading questions and answers prepared, as addressed in my application for advisory - where concerns relate to the question how charging handicap persons, at parking structures, is compliant to State law, were forwarded by City Staff to the City Attorneys office - when City Attorney deals with matters of litigation. Expertise of credentialed staff instead informs on legislation compliance, per se. This whole ordeal felt like an ambush. Perfect way to dissuade public participation among those who desire to work with the system without having to sue the City into oblivion, or worse. No wonder handicap people dont typically bother with the system under such subversive antics. Randy Rowse sits in on the Downtown Parking Commission, and owns the Paradise Cafe on Anacapa Street. Frank Hotchkiss made it real clear he had no questions and wanted to hurry along. Interviews didnt begin until after 5:30 (scheduled at 4PM) and Santa Barbara City Council candidate Leslie Wiscomb didnt think the experience to be a farce. Not a particularly inspiring example for current and future generations to evaluate as guidance and leadership. Not friendly to the private sector, or to the public payroll.
