Tonight I watched one of the dearest friends I have ever had leave his door for the last time. I stood at attention and saluted as his body passed because he liked that kind of respect. He was a man of honor with a sharp wit and a keen, inquisitive mind. He was one of the best judges who ever graced the circuit court bench, a fact that is well known to any lawyer who appeared before him. He was a wonderful friend. I will miss you, Jerry T. Lockett.
