Tonight, I went to the NICU where my 7 week old daughter was waiting. The nurses laid her on my chest and I read several of the invocations and prayers from todays pdf. I altered the three breath focus though, to fit our situation a bit more. First three breaths - Brighids presence at her birth, guiding the hands of the caregivers and easing my fear and discomfort. Second three breaths - Brighid the midwife and smith, forging the bond between my daughter and I. Allowing me to take deep healing breaths and send healing energy to my daughter. Third three breaths - Brighid the lady of creation, safely delivering for Joe and I this wonderful new life, a true creation of love. It was really a beautiful experience.
