Tonight I’m thankful for: 1. Rose and Harou Hayashi…parents - TopicsExpress

Tonight I’m thankful for: 1. Rose and Harou Hayashi…parents of five boys; three of them are farmers and two are surgeons. Howard and Eddie are the surgeons…and Howard Harou Hayashi is my lifesaver! 2. The staff at the Central Coast Surgical Institute! From surgeons and anesthesiologists to nurses and support staff, they work as one well- oiled machine. This is one happy group of talented individuals who get to work in one of the nicest surgery centers I have ever seen. 3. I’m so thankful to have these two surgeries behind me. Most of you are unaware of what these surgeries entailed. I thank you for your love and support and for my privacy. There is only one individual however, that had the insight to understand the bigger picture, and why it was so important to get these issues handled. She and I were able to have a dialog that Ive never had with another human being. I am so thankful for her infinite wisdom, and her gift of “outrageous insight”. In my heart I knew these issues were born of a lifelong struggle; I never dreamed that anyone else would be able to understand the complexity of it all. I am validated and I am thankful. 4. The tears I now shed. Feeling sorry for oneself is unproductive, however things happen in life and in order to move forward and become a whole, happy and healthy individual who can function well in this world, a certain amount of acceptance along with a bit of grieving must first take place. This is the theory I embrace. 5. God, the gentle giant who takes my hand and leads me. Many of us have been raised with the all seeing, vengeful God. I’m not saying He is not all seeing, but my God…my Father God is an incredibly patient teacher. I am ever thankful for his amazing grace. How did I become so blessed? Tonight’s five for five on compassion and forgiveness~ “Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, its at the end of your arm, as you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.” Sam Levenson~ “For me, I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. Youd be surprised how far that gets you.” Neil deGrasse Tyson~ “All I ever wanted was to reach out and touch another human being not just with my hands but with my heart.” Tahereh Mafi, Shatter Me~ “...for there is nothing heavier than compassion. Not even ones own pain weighs so heavy as the pain one feels with someone, for someone, a pain intensified by the imagination and prolonged by a hundred echoes.” Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being~ “A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” Albert Einstein~ It has been a great week! Lets have a wonderful weekend to top it all off! I love you big!
