Tonight, Zachary and the other soldiers in his company are doing their last hundred yards. They are doing their final march and at the end, they will be christened as US Army Infantrymen. It is a sacred march for the infantry in the US Army. They wear their 45 pound ruck, up a hill that is called Stairway to Heaven, at times carrying 35 pound water jugs and sand bags heavy enough to simulate a wounded soldier. At the end, they get their cross rifles pin and have a ceremony. The march is a total of 15 miles and being done with as little as 4 hours of sleep a night since Sunday. Prayers please...these guys have worked hard to get to this point!!! I am so proud of every one of them!!!
