Tonight, we have the hilula of one of the greatest kabbalists in - TopicsExpress

Tonight, we have the hilula of one of the greatest kabbalists in history, Rabbi Isaac Luria, who was also known as the Ari. A hilula is a death anniversary, but its literal translation is “celebration.” But why would a death anniversary be called a celebration? Basically, what we learn from the kabbalists is that on the day that a person passes, all of the Light that his or her soul has revealed in this physical world is available for the rest of humanity to tap into and be nurtured from. In this way, that day becomes a celebration of and connection to the individual’s spiritual energy. The Ari’s hilula has a special significance for me because ever since I first visited his gravesite years ago, he has been a force in my personal growth—a kind of “spiritual father.” Later, I will post a little more about this brilliant soul and all that we have to gain from him. Have a great day!
