Tonight we watch with bated breath the invasion of #Gaza, one of the most densely populated places on this Earth, by the 4th most powerful nuclear-armed, US-funded military of Israel. 1.8 million people are crammed in to 140 square miles, under siege by Israel in what is described as the worlds largest open air prison. And after 10 days of intense air strikes by the Israeli Air Force, #Israel has sanctioned the illegal ground invasion of the small Gaza strip and condemned all those within it to an untold campaign of brutal violence, misery and the deaths of many more civilians. Since the beginning of Operation Protective Edge, the deaths of least 230 Palestinians and 1 Israeli have been reported. As I type this now, this number will rise. These are not merely numbers, but people who had lives just like us, but have since been reduced to statistics on the growing list of humans rights organisations around the world. I ask you to not watch silently. I ask you not become one of historys silent witnesses. I ask you to take action wherever and however you can: write to your MPs, go out and protest, donate to those charities that are already on the ground delivering aid to wherever it is needed most and share the sad story of Gaza. These actions are small, but if we all contribute and do our part, our combined efforts will make a difference. Oussama Kardi Keep Gaza in your prayers tonight, because that is the least we can do
