Tonight we were busy. League 42 had the final games of the season tonight and we went to see the bittersweet end to the first season of the league tonight. Linda Gregory, Robert Barvais, and I watched a little of one tball game, visited with Bob Lutz, Debbie Lutz,, Lavonta Williams, Bob Frey, some of the parents and the kids and then off to see our other family, Joanna Stamman Chadwick, B,C, and G as the kids played baseball. I was able to stay upright even though that old problem with my back is flaring up again. Luckily, I see my Doctor tomorrow and will see what he recommends for me. another epidural or other treatment. I will put up the few pictures I took at League 42 later. I will miss those kids, those volunteers, Larry Dennis who is the main man at McAdams and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, the parents with their enthusiasm and the guys who work the concession stand. Thanks to the city for keeping the fields in tip top shape. A great relief comes over me tonight when I realize the absolutely monumental task which got the league going, kept it going and is now putting the first season to rest. At the same time, a great sadness engulfs me as I see the kids file off the fields. We have plans for the kids on the off season and these include non-baseball things as well as clinics and other related training. As I told Debbie Lutz tonight, I am happy that my back lasted til the last game. :) I feel as if a part of me has gone.
