Tonight with the swearing in of the new BOD members we will see - TopicsExpress

Tonight with the swearing in of the new BOD members we will see an end of many long held hopes for reform, equality, and the tyranny of our governmental structure. So how did this happen ? How did we lose one of the few intelligent, member serving, advocates for change ? Was it due in part to the misguided, self serving, faulty advice of one popular FB group site ? This site was supposed to promote change, reform, and expansion of member rights ? So how is it that suddenly they launched support for a candidate with a history of opposition to these goals? To someone who spent his entire prior term in office scoffing at the New Constitution initiative and results, and spending his days writing resolutions designed to tie the Chairman in knots. Was it because one of the admins of this site lost in a prior tribal election and rather than accept the fact he simply did not get enough votes, he developed this convoluted, irrational theory that one candidate, one vote theories do not work ? Was this entire site promotion of a non -reform candidate all done to prop up the weak ego of this admin ? Malloy had been the favored candidate of this site for years. Suddenly then, in the final campaign, the admin starts promoting Hoffman, the opposite of reform ! He repeatedly cited his own tribal election loss as a reason to avoid one candidate, one vote platforms and instead promoted a lessor of two evils theory, and designated Hoffman as the lessor evil candidate. He even threw in some twisted, illogical mathematical models to support his faulty position. Thus began a blitz of DJ and DJ campaign rhetoric. But this admin forgot to tell people that lessor of two evil theories are only effective in choosing one candidate, not two ! We had a good candidate and that is when one vote, on candidate theories are implemented. Adding a second , lessor candidate to the platform is playing Russian roulette,,,and guess what ? We lost. So why did people listen ? Was it easier to just take the advice of someone who promoted himself as an expert in these matters, than do their own thinking or investigations? Did they endow this person with some credibility not born by facts ? Did they just not want to have think too hard and it was easier to let someone tell them how to vote ? Add into this chorus of mis guided voices is a popular camera man who jumped over from his unit into ours, and began aggressively promoting Hoffman, his cousin. All members have a stake in the election outcomes of all units, but previously this camera guy had supported reform and the Chairman. Supporting Hoffman is inconsistent with both of these goals So what does that leave, support based on being a relative ? Lets hope these followers do not attempt to save face by providing unfailing support for Hoffman, but take the blinders off and start demanding accountability and change.
